Brentford Football Club, nicknamed the Bees, was founded in 1889 in Brentford, west London, and has played at the Gtech Community Stadium since 2020 after 116 years at Griffin Park. The club's early peak came in the 1930s, reaching a highest finish of fifth in the First Division in 1935–36, before decades in the lower divisions. Under owner Matthew Benham it won the 2021 Championship play-off final to reach the Premier League, ending a 74-year absence from the top tier.
