1. FC Heidenheim 1846 is a German football club from Heidenheim an der Brenz in Baden-Württemberg, formed as an independent club in 2007 from the football section of TSB/VfL Heidenheim (whose roots trace to 1846). The club rose rapidly through the divisions, winning the 3. Liga in 2013-14 and the 2. Bundesliga in 2022-23 to reach the Bundesliga for the first time in its history. Heidenheim spent two seasons in the top flight before being relegated back to the 2. Bundesliga for the 2026-27 campaign.
