Società Sportiva Lazio, founded in Rome in 1900, is one of Italy's oldest professional football clubs and has spent most of its history in the top flight, Serie A. Its most successful era came around the turn of the millennium, winning the Serie A title in 1999–2000 alongside the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup and UEFA Super Cup. Based at the Stadio Olimpico, the club has long contested the Rome derby with rivals AS Roma.
