SV Werder Bremen, founded in 1899 and based in Bremen, is one of German football's most successful and enduring clubs and a long-standing fixture of the Bundesliga. The club has won four German championships and six DFB-Pokal titles, capped by a domestic double in 2003-04, and lifted the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1992.
